Where the story began
In 1953, at the age of fifteen, Minas began his apprenticeship at the workshop of Angelos Vourakis.
It was there that he encountered the discipline, precision and knowledge of materials that would become part of the foundation of his own creative language.
Those lessons remained with him as he developed an entirely personal approach to jewellery and eventually founded MINAS. -
More than seventy years later
More than seventy years later, Arion Spyridis was invited to create a piece for the same House, this time to commemorate its 100th anniversary.
The commission represented far more than a collaboration. It was an opportunity to create for a House that belongs to the history of MINAS itself.
Rather than looking back through nostalgia, the piece takes something inherited and moves it forward.

A first for MINAS
The anniversary brooch also marks something new for MINAS.
For the first time, a MINAS creation centred around diamonds and precious stones is presented publicly.
Yet the principle remains unchanged. The design comes first. The stones follow the movement of the metal, reinforcing the form rather than defining it.
The diamonds follow the form. They don’t dictate it.

100 becomes form.
Rather than placing the number 100 onto a jewel, Arion approached the number itself as the starting point of the design.
Two circular forms create the zeros, while the central vertical line completes the composition. As the circles intersect, the form also evokes infinity, transforming an anniversary into an idea of continuity.

The idea
The Vourakis version is crafted in 18K white gold with diamonds and completed with a pear-cut diamond.
The House of MINAS version shares the same form and is completed with a pear-cut emerald.
Two interpretations of the same design, created for two Houses connected by more than seven decades of history.
